Wood Motor Inc. was established in 1946 by Duff Wood in partnership Ida Mohler and Jack Enfield. In 1968, Harley Tanner bought out Mr. Wood’s share of the business. In 1969, John Tanner bought out Ms. Mohler and Mr. Enfield. In 1973, The company name was changed to Wood Motor Inc, DBA as Tanner Motors. In 1976, Professional Auto Leasing was established. In 1981, John Tanner bought out Harley Tanner, and moved Tanner Motors from it’s original location at 217 West Washington Street to the present location at 703 West Washington Street. In 1995. In 1999 we opened the New Tanner Sales Center at 620 West Washington, across the street from the existing Sales and Service Center. The Service and Parts facility was then remodeled and expanded to include 6 new Technician Stalls.
Over the years, Tanner Motors has grown in its current location, as we now offer a state-of-the-art showroom, Parts & Service Centers and a Finance Department.
